Celebration of Life

As our family decides how to commemorate Kelly's fulfilling and devoted life, a celebration of life will take place in lieu of a traditional funeral. With the hopes of celebrating her persistent strength and never-ending love, we invite you to join us on November 11th to honor her everlasting spirit.

We are forever grateful for the community that Kelly has built. As an abundance of food and flowers have come into our home, we ask that you consider making a donation in her memory. Opportunity Knocks (a non-profit that hosts day programs for adults with disabilities) and Beyond Hunger (a non-profit that gives food to those in need) are causes that were close to Kelly's philanthropic heart. The links to donate are located in the above tab as well as available at the celebration.

Date: Saturday, November 11th

Location: Pleasant Home, 217 Home Ave, Oak Park, Il, 60302

Time: 2pm to 8pm CST

Refreshments: Food and drinks will be provided during the celebration

Parking Options: Pleasant Home does not have a parking lot.  If you are driving, street parking is available.  As an alternative, we will have a shuttle between Pleasant Home and the parking lot for St. Edmond Church.  St. Edmonds (188 S. Oak Park Ave) is a few blocks directly east on Pleasant St. from Pleasant Home (7 min walk).  The parking lot is behind the church on Pleasant St.  The shuttle will run back and forth every 15 minutes (thank you Bridgid).

Dress Code: As many of you know, Kelly had little interest in getting somberly dressed up, as a mix of funky pajamas, bright yellow taxicab shoes, and fuzzy sweatshirts were her go to outfit. Please refrain from wearing tradition "funeral" clothes as this event is meant to be a celebration. Fun colors, sweatpants, or even ballgowns are encouraged.

Name Tags: We will have name tags if you would like.  This is a celebration of Kelly with all of you.

Heart Pins: Kelly made every heart beat count.  As a reminder to all of us to do the same, please take one from the basket.

Euchre Cards: Kelly loved Euchre family night.  If you don't know how to play, now is as good as time as any to learn.  It's a fun and simple game.  Take a 'Kelly' deck of cards on your way out.
